Mfantsipim(red) lost the opening game of the Championship.
The exciting opening day of the Sprite Ball Championship is set to continue further as a string of mouthwatering games have been lined up on Day 2.

The El Wak Stadium will have the last rounds of games in the preliminary stage with those in the knockout phase set to roll out on Saturday January 6.

In Group A, Mfantsipim School takes on Keta Senior Technical School in a crunch game that has an extensive history to it.

Both teams have consistently met in previous editions en route to clinch the Championship title with Keta winning in 2014 and Mfantsipim winning on four occasions.

Mfantsipim needs to beat Keta to stand a chance of qualifying after losing 14-45 to PRESEC-Osu and beating Takoradi Technical Institute 18-0. Keta piped Takoradi 26-24 and has a matchup with PRESEC-Osu.

Pope John Senior High and St. Augustine’s College collide in what is essentially the battle for top spot in Group C after both teams clinched wins in the first round.

The teams faced off at the January 2016 semifinals which Augustine’s won to progress to the final game and clinch its maiden title.

St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School and Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS) face off in a grudge game in Group B.
