Accra Wesley Girls (yellow and blue) in action
Ahantaman Girls Senior High School and Accra Wesley Girls High School have made the semifinals of the 2018 Sprite Ball Championship.

Both teams have qualified from Group A of the female division with Accra Wesley Girls securing top spot and Ahantaman placing second.

Greater Accra representative Wesley Girls won three games of four games beating the likes of Wesley Girls High School.

Ahantaman lost to Accra Wesley Girls but recovered well to make the final four of the competition for the first time in the team’s history.

Making the semifinals is a big achievement for the young side who continue to impress after winning the Western Regional qualifiers.

Both teams qualify ahead of defending champions Wesley Girls who lost games to Ahantaman Girls and West Africa Senior High School.

This means a new winner will be declared on Saturday January 6 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra when the finals will be held.

West Africa narrowly missed out on a semifinal berth despite beating T.I. Ahmadiyya 20-19.
