Kumasi Girls High School Basketball Coach Zibo Brown predicted his side will win the Sprite Ball Championship female division and his expectation was met as his side clinched the trophy.

The side beat Accra Wesley Girls High School 30-29 after overtime to win the tournament for the first time in the school’s history.

Prior to competing at the just ended tournament, Brown opined in an interview with Baskteballghana.com his team will win the trophy.

After placing fourth and second in the past two editions of the Championship, the young tactician stated his team’s consistent improvement will see them go a step above second place.

The team impressed throughout the just ended competition winning all games before delivering the win in the nail biting final.

Kumasi Girls topped Group B ahead of two time winners Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior High before delivering an 18-10 win over Ahantaman Girls Senior High School.

Winning this year’s edition exorcises the pain of losing to Wesley Girls High School in the last Championship final.

Point Guard Rose Yeboah was named Most Valuable Player of the competition.
