Checks by Baskteballghana.com reveal the starting unit of newly crowned Sprite Ball Champions Presbyterian Senior High School (Osu-PRESEC) will not be present at the next edition.

This is because starters of the winning team in the just ended campaign are in their final year in school thus making them ineligible to compete in the 13th edition of the tournament.

Per the rules of Ghana’s Education Service governing the competition, players have a three year window to participate in the tournament.

Members of the unit including Most Valuable Player Joel Award Winner Joel Koboayere and Captain Shadrach Mensah will not feature at the next edition.

The likes of Shooting Guard and MVP Candidate Prince Lumorvi and backup Guard Alhassan Abdul Rahim are also implicated by the rule.

All members of this year’s winning team competed at the December 2016 edition which was the school’s first ever appearance in the competition.

Osu PRESEC exited at the group stage but bounced back in grand style to beat Mfantsipim School 25-22 to clinch the 2018 edition; the first for Greater Accra Region in the male division since 2009.
