Accra Wesley Girls High School Basketball Captain Maamata Yussif has stated her dream is to play in the Women National Basketball Association (WNBA).

She made the statement when Accra Wesley Girls made an appearance on celebrated basketball program “Courtside”.

The program which aired on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports had the silver medalists at the 2018 Sprite Ball Championship make an appearance and share their experience playing in the competition earlier this month.

Despite missing out on grabbing a Sprite Ball gold medal, the 6 foot 2 inch Center has dreams of making it to the apex of women’s basketball.

“I want to play in the WNBA” Yussif said when quizzed on her future plans in the sport by Anchor Yaw Sakyi Afari.

Accra Wesley lost for the second time in three years at the Sprite Ball female division final following a 29-30 overtime loss to Kumasi Girls High School in January little over a fortnight ago.

The team lost to Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior High School in 2016. Courtside airs between 16:00 and 18:00 GMT on Sunday.
