Former Ghana Basketball Awards Tertiary Player of the Year Romeo Enan has stated his absence in the Ivory Coast National Team will motivate him to work harder.

He made the statement in an interview with Basketballghana.com following call ups to the Elephants team for 2019 FIBA World Cup Games later this month.

Ivory Coast called up 19 players to camp as the team prepares to play against Senegal, Central African Republic and Mozambique in Maputo from February 23-25.

Despite featuring for Ivory Coast at the 2017 African Nations Championship (AfroBasket), Enan was left out of the preliminary roster.

“For me , it’s a reason to put in more work and train so I can make it next time. So it’s a sign of encouragement for me” he said.

Enan is plying his trade in the Tunisian League with JS Manazzeh following stints with Accra Basketball League side Braves of Customs and Nigerian League outfits Kwara Falcons and Kano Pillars.

He was on the Pillars team that placed fourth in the 2016 Africa Champions Cup.
