The season is heading to the home straight after a sizable number of games have taken place since the second half of the French Pro A league.

The 2017-2018 season is past the half way mark but Champagne Chalons-Reims –club side of Ghana Forward Ben Bentil is in deep waters.

Following a 90-93 loss to Paris-Levallions over the weekend, Reims is ranked 15th in the 18 team standings in France.

The team holds a better record than just three teams in the league; Hyeres-Toulon, Boulazac and bottom ranked Chalon have worse records than Reims.

With 14 games left to play, the Northern French side is on the clock to record wins and save its status in the French top flight.

Prior to Bentil’s signature this season, Reims finished the 2015-2016 season in 15th place and unless the team scores victories in upcoming games, it could remain in the same spot.

Bentil’s play has largely been inconsistent as he is ranked second in team scoring with 11.7 points after leading the category for much of the campaign.
