Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary has been granted a big request as the school’s need for a basketball court has been answered.

Fronting the 1989 Year Group, CDH Financial Holdings Chief Executive Officer Adu Sarkodee fronted the construction of the new edifice.

The brand new court was officially opened over the weekend in Koforidua during Pope John’s 60th Anniversary celebrations.

The school has in recent years been a major force on the Ghanaian scene in basketball particularly the most celebrated competition, Sprite Ball.

The Sprite Ball Championship is the most patronized high school basketball event in the nation and Pope John has been a top performer.

In the past three editions, Pope John has placed third missing out on making the finals after falling to eventual winners in the semifinals.

The absence of a top playing surface has been identified as one of the reasons behind the team’s inability to go the whole way.

Physical Education Master Fred Dwamenah acknowledges this fact by stating his side will win the next edition.
