Ex Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) Basketball Coach Albert Djan has been appointed Wisconsin University College Coach.

His new position was confirmed recently after rumors surfaced ahead of the draw for this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

The tournament commences on Saturday March 3 at Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary in Koforidua.

Wisconsin has been drawn in Zone 5 on Thursday March 22 alongside two time winners Accra Technical University, Valley View University and GIMPA.

In his time as GIMPA Coach, Djan guided the team to a quarterfinal place at the 2016 edition; the likes of McMartey Lawer and Kwame Boamah Djan played for the team.

Wisconsin is yet to qualify from the preliminary stage after featuring twice in the competition; Wisconsin made its debut in 2016 and followed it up the next year.

Djan has vast experience on the sideline after working with Koforidua Senior High Technical School and Community 2 in the Tema Basketball League.
