UMAT (green) lost twice to TTU.

Takoradi Technical University (TTU)’s Male Basketball Team has made it to the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship quarterfinals.

The side made it to the next stage of the championship after posting a flawless record in Zone 2 held at the institution earlier today in Ghana’s Western Region capital, Sekondi-Takoradi.

With GIMPA-Takoradi and GTUC-Takoradi missing the competition after pulling out late, TTU had just University of Mines and Technology (UMAT) to battle against for the zone’s top spot.

TTU beat UMAT 73-29 in the second and final game of the zonal competition to underline its dominance in the sect.

Though UMAT put a stronger fight in the second game than the first meeting between the two teams, the Tarkwa-based side lacked the killer edge to stay close with TTU.

In the end, Takoradi Technical recorded another straight forward to make the quarterfinals after missing out in the 2017 edition.

Zone 3 games commence on Saturday March 10at the University of Education-Winneba.
