University of Education-Winneba (UEW) Shooting Guard Samuel Blankson has stated his team’s qualification to the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship was not “easy”.

He made the statement in the aftermath of UEW’s qualification from Zone 3 as Champions to book an April date in Accra for the national Championship in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com

UEW topped the zone after recording three straight wins including the vital 52-35 win over Regent University College of Science and Technology.

After sealing a quarterfinal spot, Blankson was quick to note how difficult it is to excel in the UPAC Championship:

“I feel good it wasn’t easy but we still made it” he said after sweeping KAAF University College and Cape-Coast Technical University in the zone.

The team became the third side to book a quarterfinal spot after All Nations University College and Takoradi Technical University.

UEW placed second in the maiden UPAC Championship held in 2011 but is yet to record similar success since and missed out on last year’s quarterfinal roster.
