UENR against Catholic University College (white)

University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) are defending champions of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship Zone 4 and they made sure to communicate.

The team beat Catholic University College, Ghana 34-10 in the second game of this year’s zonal competition at Sunyani Technical University (STU).

UENR has won the preliminary competition of the Championship on two occasions and is gunning for a third title.

Led by 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards Tertiary Player of the Year nominee Robert Brew, UENR had little trouble putting away Catholic University.

The team took a huge 23-3 lead to the second half after a dominant first half and coasted through the remaining quarters to clinch its first win of the day.

UENR will be action next against debutants Kintampo College of Health with Catholic University College taking on host STU.

STU recorded a similar win over Kintampo in the opening game of the zonal Championship winning 50-14. The zone winner qualifies to the quarterfinals which will be held in Accra in April.
