The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) had a disappointing campaign in the 2017 UPAC Championship.

The team lost against the likes of University of Ghana (UG) who moved on to win last year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

GIMPA tips off its campaign in the 2018 edition on Thursday March 22 in Zone 6 at Accra Technical University (ATU).

The team takes on the host, Wisconsin International University College and Valley View University for the top spot in Zone 6.

GIMPA suffered from coaching problems and a host of new players in the team following the departure of kingpins Jake Morrison, McMartey Lawer and Kwame Boamah Djan.

The trio played a key role in taking GIMPA to the 2016 UPAC quarterfinals and competing well in the knockout phase of the competition.

A year on, team leader Joe Nettey and his teammates have gathered a lot of experience and stand a better chance of winning in the tough zone.
