Accra Technical University (ATU) will be present to compete in the National stage of the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

The outfit will take on elite teams from tertiary institutions from several parts of Ghana after qualifying from the preliminary stage as Zone 6 winners.

ATU beat Valley View University 55-9, Wisconsin International University College 39-23 and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to win the zone.

Only zonal winners make it to the next stage which takes place at University of Ghana (UG) from April 12-14 to determine the winner of this year’s competition.

ATU is the sixth team to qualify from the zonal level with two more zones remaining on the roster; Zone 7 and 8 will be played out on March 24 and March 29 at UG.

All Nations University College, Takoradi Technical University, University of Education-Winneba, Sunyani Technical University and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology have also made it through to the next stage.

ATU is a two time UPAC winner and seeks to add a third.
