UPSA (white) v Marshalls

GTUC (yellow) clinched a one point lead win over UPSA.

University of Professional Studies (UPSA) Male Basketball Team has exited the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

UPSA missed out on progressing from the preliminary stage after losing all three games in Zone 7 of this year’s edition which was played out a few hours ago at the University of Ghana.

The team ranked bottom in the zone behind winners Ghana Technology University College (GTUC), Marshalls University College and Islamic University College.

UPSA has not progressed from the UPAC zonal stage since 2015 and its latest attempts fell woefully short off the qualification mark.

GTUC fought from an eight point deficit to pip UPSA 30-29 in the first game before the latter side lost 16, 34 to Marshalls and 20-22 to Islamic University College in the remaining games.

Since 2015, the team has been on a slide and is yet to get back to the elite level. Zone 7 winners GTUC will be in action in the national championship from April 12-14.
