In the aftermath of the shocking 14-16 loss to Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) in Zone 7 of the 2018 UPAC Basketball Championship, Marshalls University College Coach James Okine has conceded his side lost to a better side.

He made the statement in a heated discussion with GTUC Captain Isaac Martey on basketball television program “Courtside” on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports.

Martey and Okine faced off at the University of Ghana over the past weekend to determine the winner of Zone 7 in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges Championship.

GTUC piped 2017 silver medalist Marshalls to clinch the zone’s sole spot in the national championship stage which takes place from April 12-14 at the University of Ghana.

Okine stated, “I admit we lost to the better side” but raised a host of incidents which he believes cost his side a win.

Marshalls beat University of Professional Studies and Islamic University College but the two point loss to GTUC sees the side exit at the preliminary stage for the first time.
