Central (red) piped Radford University to clinch its first win.
UG (Blue) run out with a big win

It was business as usual for defending Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship University of Ghana (UG) as the side won its second game in Zone 8 of this year’s edition.

UG clinched a 41-16 win over Pentecost University College to record its second win of the zonal competition to fall in a favourable position to qualify from the zone.

Pentecost will rue misses in the game particularly in the first quarter where the side trailed 4-11; Pentecost missed several free throws and open looks at the rim.

This all but puts Pentecost out of contention for the zone’s top spot which qualifies the side to the national competition.

On the other hand Central University delivered a big win by recording a surprising 32-31 win over Radford University College.

The latter side, playing in the tournament for the first time, got off to an excellent start by registering a 20-14 win over Pentecost.

This means a win over Pentecost and a favorable result in the game between Radford University College and UG could see the side sneak into the next round.
