University of Ghana (UG) and Radford University College will play in the second round of Zone 8 of the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

UG and Radford head to the round on the back of recording wins over Central University and Pentecost University College.

Radford beat Pentecost 20-14 in its first game in the UPAC Championship since this is the team’s maiden appearance in the competition.

Radford will be in action against Central University knowing a win sets the team up nicely for its crunch game against UG in the final round.

Defending UPAC Champions UG rolled out to an easy 52-21 win over Central who have stepped in as a late replacement for Regional Maritime University.

UG takes on Pentecost in the second round; the team is aiming to progress beyond the preliminary stage to stand a chance of competing in the national competition.

Only zone winners feature in the next stage; seven zone winners have been determined ahead of today’s competition.
