Accra Technical University (ATU) Captain Abdul Mutaleeb Alhassan has stated his team will take “a game at a time” approach to this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship national competition.

He made the statement in an interview on basketball television program “Courtside” on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports exactly a week before the national games commence.

The quarterfinal, semifinal and final games in the 2018 edition will be played at the University of Ghana from April 12-14.

ATU has been drawn in Group B alongside University of Education-Winneba (UEW), Sunyani Technical University and All Nations University College.

2015 Ghana Basketball Awards Most Valuable Player Alhassan revealed his team’s approach to clinch a third UPAC trophy.

“We are taking a game at a time we are not going to underrate any team…we are going to do that till we get to the finals and we are going to do that till we get to the final” he said.

After winning the trophy in 2011 and 2015, ATU has missed out on a third title in previous editions; the team placed second and third in 2016 and 2017.
