Galaxy-Dunks to open new Accra League season

Galaxy (white) beat Braves in last season’s opening round.

Navy (white) v Galaxy in the opening game.
Tudu Galaxy and Dunks Basketball Club will be involved in the opening game of the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Female Division.

The tie commences competition in the first round of the season which is expected to end on May 24 prior to the start of the second round.

The game will be played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu; the tie is scheduled for tip off at 18:00 GMT with Galaxy set to play before its home fans.

However, prior to tonight’s encounter, Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Navy will not compete in this season’s league.

Reports coming indicate the late withdrawal is down to administrative issues the team has been facing for a while in the lead up to the 2018 season.

Dunks did not feature in last season’s competition which was won by Braves of Customs with Ghana Navy placing second in the five team league.

University of Ghana (UG) will not return to compete in this season’s campaign after featuring in the immediate past season.

After clinching another title, Braves journeyed to Nigeria to compete in international friendlies.
