Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has survived a nerve wracking game against Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in the 2018 UPAC Basketball Championship Quarterfinals.
TTU piped KNUST 36-35 with the teams playing out a tough encounter in the second game in Group A of the ongoing competition.
Both teams relied on deep conversions for much of their points with TTU utilizing the three point shot to wipe out a seven point deficit.
The score heading to the final quarter was 27-27 and the score remained tied at 29 midway through the final quarter.
TTU held on to clinch the crucial win and play defending champions and host team University of Ghana in the next game.
KNUST on the other hand, needs a win against Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) to stand a chance of making it to the semifinals.
GTUC lost the opening game 29-49 to UG and take on KNUST with either side needing a win. Below is a roundup of scores in Group A’s opening round:
