Host of the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship, University of Ghana (UG) have qualified to the semifinals.

The two time winners qualified as winners of Group A following a three game winning streak beating the likes of Ghana Technology University College (GTUC).

UG clinched the semifinal spot with a 37-29 win in overtime over Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

UG beat GTUC 49-29 before topping Takoradi Technical University 64-37; UG is aiming to become to the first to clinch three straight UPAC titles.

A third UPAC title makes University of Ghana the most successful team in the history of Ghana’s most celebrated tertiary basketball competition.

Takoradi Technical University (TTU) qualifies as the second best team in Group A with a record of two wins and a loss.

TTU survived a close contest against KNUST piping the Kumasi side by a point and wrapped up a second win with a dominant display against GTUC.

TTU walked away with a 51-31 win to seal its place in the final four on its return to the elite stage after missing out last year.
