The third week of the 2018 Tema Basketball Leagues season has ended at Tema’s Community 4 Court with all four scheduled games honored.

In the opening game, Tema Heat was given a big scare by Teshie Vikings who threatened to end the former’s winning streak three games into the season.

Heat battled from a double digit deficit to pip Vikings 49-48 in overtime and extend its winning streak to three.

Defending champions Tema Community 4 recorded its second straight win over Akatsi Rifles by clinching a 51-43 win earlier tonight. Rifles lost 46-64 in the first game.

While Community 4 led for most parts of the game, the home side never really pulled away from Rifles who stayed within range trailing by two and six points at different stages.

Tema Rockets took a surprise 13-12 lead over 2017 finalist Ashaiman Lions but Ashaiman Shooting Guard Korley Amartey found his range from deep at crucial times in the game.

Lions led 26-22 at half time before skipping away to a 38-29 win to record its second win in as many games; John Teye Okumoh and Elvis Pobi-Siaw did not compete for Ashaiman.

The final game of the round had Teshie Rangers square off against Tema Community 2 which had Rangers clinch a 37-31 win.

The win ends Rangers losing run in the league; the Teshie side lost to Heat and Vikings in the previous rounds.
