Week Three of the 2018 Tema Basketball League ended over the weekend with Tema Rockets falling for the second in as many games.
Rockets lost 29-38 to Ashaiman Lions exactly a week after losing 37-38 to Akatsi Rifles with Rifles winning shot scored seconds to the end of the game.
Rockets led by as many as 13 points at certain stages in the first quarter but allowed Rifles to trim its deficit to five (28-33) heading to the final quarter before the killer blow close to the end.
However, the team stayed locked in throughout its crunch tie against Lions taking a 13-12 first quarter lead but improved play from Ashaiman turned the tie around.
Two time league finalist Lions clinched a 26-22 first half lead before seeing out scoring bursts from Rockets to win the tie.
Despite the loss, Rockets played better and looked to have recovered from the disastrous end to its maiden game in the 2018 season against Rifles.
Teshie Rangers, Tema Heat and defending champions Tema Community 4 won in Week 3.
