Suncity Braves Center Isaac Amponsah has stated his side is determined to defend its 2017-2018 GSP Basketball League Crown next season.

He made the statement in an interview with Sunyani-based radio station J Life FM in the aftermath of Braves win the just ended season.

Braves beat University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) to the league trophy after piping LIR Royals 41-39 while UENR lost 39-40 in overtime to Desert Rabbits on the final day of competition.

Amponsah was named Most Valuable Player of the season after averaging 14 points and two blocks in the campaign.

Speaking to J Life, Amponsah was confident his side will be the first to successfully defend the GSP title come next season.

“We are ready to defend the title next season” he said. Braves won the league in 2016 but lost out on back to back wins last season when UENR were crowned Champions.

Braves topped the standings with 26 points from 14 games one point ahead of UENR’s 25 points.
