The Male Wheelchair Basketball Team representing Ghana’s Brong Ahafo Region is heavily tipped to win gold in the upcoming National Unity Games.

The team recently clinched first place in the Republic Day Competition which was held in Ho with four teams representing various regions in the nation compete.

Northern, Greater Accra, Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions respectively participated in the one day event in its maiden edition.

This year’s Unity Games takes place at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape-Coast from August 12 to August 19 with several disciplines set to have athletes all over the country feature in.

Dubbed the “Eagle Shooters, BA beat Greater Accra 26-18 in the final game to lead the race giving the ultimate boost to retain its National Games title.

Ashanti Region Northern Region 21-15 to place second while the latter ended in last place after three losses in as many games.

BA and National Team Captain Botsyo Nkegbe will lead his side for another gold run next month; the region is Ghana’s most dominant force in wheelchair basketball.
