Competition in the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) will be halted for almost a month per information reaching Basketballghana.com

The near month long break is to give players and coaches in the league the chance to compete in Ghana’s National Unity Games.

The multi sport competition is set to commence on August 12 and will be held at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape-Coast.

The League Board made the announcement following games played earlier this week on Thursday and Friday (July 26 and 27 respectively).

In the aftermath of the week long games, competition will return to Ghana’s premier club basketball competition later in August.

August 23 has been earmarked as the start date for the remaining games in the 2018 season; Braves of Customs lead the Men’s Division I standings.

Ghana Police Service leads the Women’s Division; Braves and Police are yet to be beaten this season. However, Tema Youth clinched a 79-71 win over Navy Warriors.

Police’s Male side clinched a 71-61 win over Tudu Magic in the games prior to the break.
