Two time GSP Basketball League Champions Suncity Braves have recorded a win in preseason as the team prepares for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.
Braves secured a 32-25 win over Techiman Merchants in a game played at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) Court this past weekend.
Maurice Abugri led the way with 12 points, six steals, three assists and three rebounds while Abdul Latif added 14 points and two assists for Braves.
Merchants had Gideon Anti score six points, grab 11 rebounds and block an attempted shot in the seven point loss. Braves lost out to Young Boys in the league title race last season.
In other preseason games played at the same venue, Desert Rabbits beat home side Sunyani Technical 39-20 and West Siders lost 12-32 to LIR.
The new league is set to commence on October 12 with the aforementioned teams set to feature; the upcoming campaign is the fifth season since the league started operating in 2015 with the Eusbett Hotel Court also hosting games.
