Reformers of Prisons have recorded a second straight win in the 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division following a 40-31 win over Ghana Navy.

The game was played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu on Monday, October 21 and preceded the regular season final game in the Men’s Division I game between Reformers and Tema Youth. Tema beat Prisons Male side 87-78.

The win is Prisons second in a row over Navy; Reformers beat Navy 28-25 in the CAP7 Memorial Tournament en route to winning bronze in the competition.

Reformers move to fourth place in the standings with 19 points from six wins and seven losses and has one more regular season game to play.

Reformers held a 22-11 at half time. Reformers missed several good looks at the rim but managed to get points including a layup from Promise Ofori. Maria Mensah’s three pointer got Navy trailing 20-26 with 2:46 remaining. Navy miseed free throws and failed to further reduce the deficit to trail 30-23.

Navy got points from the charity stripe free throws early in the quarter and both teams traded baskets before Mensah hit another three pointer as Prisons led 34-30 with 2:50 left. Reformers went on a seven point run with Augustina Amuzu’s shot coming off a pass from Ofori.
