Ghana’s representative in the ongoing Basketball Africa League (BAL) qualifiers in Cotonou, Benin has lost for the second time in a row.

Customs lost 70-74 to National Ports Authority (NPA) Pythons from Liberia after overtime to lose it second game in as many games in the preliminary qualification phase.

A late three point shot from Forward Daniel Aryee had Braves trail 68-70 with little over a minute remaining in overtime but couldn’t erase the two point deficit.

Four Braves players scored in double figures with Aryee’s 15 points leading the way and he added eight rebounds, two blocks, two assists and five steals.

Baniba Dodzi scored 10 points, Mutalib Alhassan had 12 points and Center Daniel Ayarna also registered 10 points in the game. For the second game in a row, Braves played without usual starting Center Suleman Abubakar.

Poor execution hurt Braves chance to clinch the game’s win; Braves converted 10 of 46 attempts from three point range and 13 of 35 two point shots respectively.

Braves led 37-29 at half time.
