Tema Community 2 Basketball Club has forfeited its matchup against Nungua Coldstore in the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League regular season.
The game was expected to be played on Sunday, November 3 at the Tema Community 4 Court with three other league games in the round.
However, C2 was absent for its tie against the reigning Tema League Champions Coldstore forcing game officials to hand the win to Nungua via forfeiture.
The ruling means Coldstore walks away with a 20-0 win and maintains its place at the apex of the league standings as the playoffs approach.
Basketballghana.com gathered reports of a possible no show by Community 2 as a result of the team being short handed. Veteran Guard Jaffrey Djimate was with Braves of Customs in Cotonou, Benin competing in the Basketball Africa League qualifiers.
The result means Community 2 drops to sixth in the league and Coldstore has 16 wins in 17 league games atop the standings.
2017 League Champions Tema Community 4 drops to second place.
