Reigning GSP Basketball League Champions Young Boys Basketball Club is off to a winning start in the 2019-2020 League campaign.

The new season tipped off this past weekend in Sunyani with games honoured at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) Court four games were played at the venue.

Last season’s champions Young Boys recorded a 32-25 win over LIR getting its second campaign in the league off to a perfect start.

The team won the league title in its debut run in the division on the back of a strong roster that had former Most Valuable Player Award winner Robert Brew.

Two time league champions Suncity Braves beat home side STU 41-25 as it attempts to win a third league title. The team has the most league wins (2) in the competition’s young history.

West Siders got a big win over Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints; CUCG lost 30-33 while Techiman Merchants beat Desert Rabbits 31-14.

One of the league’s forerunners University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) isn’t competing this season.
