Power Forward Daniel Aryee’s run in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) qualifiers has ended following Braves of Customs exit from the competition.

Customs missed out on progressing from Group B to the Elite 16 stage in Cotonou, Benin but Aryee was easily the standout player for the Ghanaian side.

Aryee averaged 13.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in four games in the preliminary round of qualifiers in the NBA-FIBA Africa backed competition.

The veteran Forward scored in double figures in all but one game; Aryee scored nine points in a 48-64 loss to AS Nigelec from Niger.

His best performance came in a 70-74 overtime loss to National Ports Authority Pythons from Liberia where he registered 15 points, eight rebounds, five steals and two blocks.

Aryee was one of three Braves players to score 11 points in a 56-53 win over Abidjan Basketball Club in the final game of the tournament.

The win was Braves sole triumph in Benin. Abidjan Basketball and Nigelec qualified from the Group.
