Close Games characterize GSP League Week 2

The second week of competition in the 2019 GSP Basketball League Regular Season had a pair of close results recorded at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) Court.

Four games involving all eight teams in the league were honoured at the venue this past weekend with Techiman Merchants and Young Boys maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.

Merchants registered a 41-40 win over LIR with Benjamin Yeboah registering 18 points and six rebounds in the game. The loss means LIR is winless two games into the season.

STU took advantage of its home support to pip Desert Rabbits 34-33 in another close finish for the winning side. Three players including two from STU scored 11 points in the game.

Both results were recorded on Sunday, November 10 after Young Boys and Suncity Braves recorded straight forward wins on a day earlier.

Young Boys beat West Siders 50-34 and Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints lost 32-40 to defending league champions Young Boys. Like Young Boys and Merchants, Braves are unbeaten this season.
