The 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) season ended this past weekend at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu but is sure to be fondly remembered for a while.

One of the main reasons behind the excitement in the just ended campaign is the rise of Adenta Leopards into a worthy title challenger.

The team gained promotion to the Men’s Division I two seasons ago and has been one of the best teams in Ghana’s most prominent club basketball championship.

Leopards moved to the next level by morphing into a serious challenger to Braves of Customs supreme hold on the division. Games involving the two have produced close results culminating an exciting three game finals series for the league title.

In almost two years, Braves had not tasted defeat on the local scene but a 57-65 loss to Adenta ended that unbeaten run. Customs rebounded to recorded two straight wins to win the title.

Earlier this season, Leopards won the CAP 7 Memorial Tournament and was just a game away from clinching two titles this season.
