Mfantsiman v Kumasi Girls (Green) at 2019 Sprite Ball Final.

A major change has taken place regarding representatives for the upcoming Sprite Ball Championship from the Central Region in the aftermath of the regional qualifiers.

The qualifiers ended recently at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast with Adisadel College and Wesley Girls High School winning the Boys and Girls Divisions respectively.

Reigning Sprite Ball Boys Division Champions Mfantsipim School, took up the remaining regional slot via its status as defending champions of Ghana’s biggest High School basketball tournament.

The next Sprite Ball Championship takes place from January 3 to January 4 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 20 schools set to compete. 12 schools will compete in the Boys Division and eight schools will compete in the Girls Division.

The last edition had Adisadel and Mfantsipim represent the region in the Boys Division and Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School represent the Girls Division.

However, Mfantsiman couldn’t progress from the region with Wesley Girls topping Adankwaman Senior High School in the final.
