Joel Mensah at San Diego

Ghana Forward Joel Mensah did not feature in San Diego State University’s latest win in the US Men’s College Basketball 2019-2020 regular season.

The 20 year old was absent in San Diego’s 92-48 win over San Diego Christian University earlier this morning; the win is San Diego State’s 11th win of the season.

Mensah has missed recent games due to an ankle sprain that has forced him to sit out practice sessions for Brian Dutcher’s team.

Due to Mensah’s injury and a shoulder injury to Aguek Arop, Nolan Narain has featured more in their absence. Narain played 17 minutes and registered three points and five rebounds off the bench.

Despite Joel’s absence, another Ghanaian on the team-Nathan Mensah- featured in the win as a starter and registered five rebounds, seven points, two blocks and two steals in 18 minutes.

Nathan is averaging 8.6 rebounds and 7.2 points in 20.2 minutes per game this season; San Diego State plays Utah on Saturday, December 21.
