Veteran Coach Emmanuel Essel Worbil has bagged his third Gold Medal at Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games after leading University of Ghana (UG) at the recently ended 2020 edition of the biannual multi sport competition.

UG beat one of its arch rivals University of Cape Coast (UCC) 66-63 to top the Men’s Division in one of the most anticipated matchups at the Games.

Worbil led UG to an unbeaten run in the tournament clinching important wins over Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and University of Education-Winneba (UEW) in the lead up to the finals.

While the matchup against UCC was marred in controversy due to a postponement, the outcome underlined Worbil’s success on the sideline.

Worbil led UG to Gold Medal wins in 2010 and 2012 before leading University of Professional Studies (UPSA) to a silver medal win at the 2016 edition held at UEW.

Winning in 2020 means UG has won three straight GUSA gold medals.
