The 2020 Accra Basketball League (ABL) has a reported start date in March per reports gathered by Basketballghana.com as come in thick with the basketball calendar well underway.

The 2019 season ended in Mid November with Braves of Customs winning another league title ahead of Adenta Leopards and Ghana Fire Service in the Men’s Division I.

Ghana Police Service successfully defended its title in the Women’s Division with Braves of Customs coming in second place and Ghana Fire Service placing third.

University of Ghana (UG) topped the Men’s Division II campaign and the run helped the team’s preparation for the Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games. UG won gold beating University of Cape Coast (UCC) 66-63 in the final game.

Nine teams competed in last season’s campaign in the Men’s Division I with eight competing in the Women’s Division. The number of teams in the Men’s Division I is likely to rise to 10.

Suleman Abubakar and Matilda Gordon were named MVP’s in the Men’s and Women’s Divisions respectively.
