Nungua Coldstore and Spintex Knights will battle for the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League Finals on Sunday February 16 at the Tema Community 4 Court.
The league was expected to end in the 2019 calendar year but a series of breaks and increased number of participating teams pushed the December end date back.
The teams overcame Tema Rockets and home side Tema Community 4 respectively in the playoff semifinals that concluded this past Sunday.
Both teams had to overcome some form of adversity to get to the final due to player absences; Knights had to overcome two absentees to make it to their debut final.
Spintex Guards Benjamin Omari and Elvis Pobi-Siaw didn’t play in the semifinals with Omari nursing an ankle injury; Omari is the reigning Most Valuable Player Award winner.
For Coldstore, they missed out on the services of Guard Kingsley Quist and Power Forward Gerald Sappor who is battling leukemia; a special competition involving Coldstore and players from the league and alma mater University of Ghana (UG) takes on February 9 at UG.
