The 2019 Tema Community Basketball League Finals Series will commence on Sunday, February 16 at the Tema Community 4 Court can confirm.

Nungua Coldstore and Spintex Knights will compete for the title after the teams progressed from the semifinals stage; the semifinals concluded this past weekend.

Coldstore are defending champions and aim to repeat as winners while Knights look to clinch its maiden title in the Tema League.

Spintex Knights beat Tema Community 4 twice in the semifinals to sweep the series but Coldstore beat Tema Rockets via the hard route by coming back from a 42-46 loss in Game One to clinch two wins on the bounce.

Game One of the three Game series was expected to be played on February 9 but that has been shelved in order for teams and players to support Gerald Sappor who has been diagnosed with Leukemia.

Coldstore Power Forward Sappor missed the semifinals series and a special competition is planned for February 9 at the University of Ghana in his honour.

Sappor has been a mainstay at Coldstore since 2017 and graduated from the University of Ghana last year.
