The present and the past with focus on Ghanaian basketball players collide later tonight as Ghana Forward Ben Bentil prepares to play against Crvena Zvezda or Red Star Belgrade.

Bentil’s Panathinaikos play Red Star in Belgrade with the former heading to the game on the back of an 87-94 loss to Valencia Basket on January 31.

Ghana Center Amida Brimah played for Red Star in 2018 after leading Austin Spurs to the NBA Gatorade League title; he was in Red Star’s playoff run before moving back to the United States.

He played for Indiana Pacers in preseason but was assigned to Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the Gatorade League before suffering an ACL tear. He is recovering from the injury.

Bentil is featuring in the Euroleague for the first time in his career and has impressed in limited time on the court. He played 2:54 against Valencia and delivered three points and an offensive rebound.

Pananthinaikos rank sixth in the continental championship with 13 wins and nine losses while Red Star ranks 10th.
