Public Relations Officer of University of Cape Coast (UCC) Student Representative Council Fidel Osei has lauded Rite Sports Limited for picking UCC as Host of Zone 2 in this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

Speaking exclusively to Basketballghana.com, Osei was grateful to the UPAC organizers for choosing UCC as host of tomorrow’s games that has three other institutions set to play against the host team.

Zone 2 has defending champions Takoradi Technical University (TTU), University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) and University of Education-Winneba (UEW) set to play on Saturday, March 14.

The games are to be played at UCC’s beautiful Basketball Gymnasium which held its first competition in 2017 with the Mini GUSA Games taking place there.

“The organizers choosing UCC as the host I think they really did the right thing and one thing about UCC is that we are very familiar with host and win so if we are hosting it then UCC is definitely going to win because this school really values sports that’s how come they put up that structure” Osei said.

Only the zonal winner progresses to the national stage of the tournament.The 2020 UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank, MTN and Decathlon.
