Young Boys (red) v CUCG Saints in GSP matchup

The 2019-2020 GSP Basketball League season has had its run halted once again after news emerged of the competition’s suspension recently.

Basketballghana.com reported of the league’s suspension over fears of the Corona Virus spread; a ban on social gatherings by Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo went into effect on March 15.

League Directors adhered to the directive and subsequently suspended competition until further notice with no games to be played at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) Venue.

The season went on a near three month long break following the conclusion of the first half of the campaign in early December.

With the corona virus forcing competition to be stopped, the league is faced with its second break for the first time in the competition’s history.

Defending Champs Young Boys

Three rounds of games were played before the suspension went into effect; defending champions Young Boys maintain its top spot in the standings with nine wins in nine games.

Close rival and two time league champions Suncity Braves lost for the second time this season after falling 24-25 to Sunyani Technical.
