Ghanaian-Italian Small Forward Awudu Abass is “ever closer” to a move to Virtus Bologna Basketballghana.com understands.

The Como born player has been embroiled in a protracted transfer to the Italian Serie A side from fellow league outfit German Brescia this offseason.

Abass recorded 14 points and four assists for Brescia last season helping the team to third place in the league prior to the 2019-2020 campaign’s suspension and subsequent cancellation due to the corona virus.

According to PianetaBasket, the former Olimpia Milano player and league winner is inching closer to Bologna; Virtus had the best record in the just ended season.

The 6 foot 6 inch player has attracted offers from foreign clubs including Russian side Khimki and German side Alba Berlin with Brescia interested in retaining his services.

Born to a Ghanaian father, Abass represented Italy at the 2019 Basketball World Cup in China; he had represented the European nation at age group tournaments before including the triumphant side at the 2013 European Under 20 competition.
