Joel Mensah at San Diego

Basketballghana.com can confirm young Ghanaian Basketball standout player Joel Mensah has been given the all clear to compete in the 2020-2021 United States College Men’s Basketball Season.

Mensah transferred from San Diego State University after two seasons to James Madison University this offseason; lack of game time was primarily behind the move from San Diego.

Due to rules, Mensah was in line to sit out the upcoming season due eligibility purposes before the ruling was passed via a relief waiver from the NCAA (North American Athletic Association)

The 20 year old Mensah will play in his third year in College immediately as a result with two fellow transfers, Jalen Hodge and Vado Morse.

Hodge and Morse and Guards who moved from Louisiana Monroe and Mount Saint Mary’s University respectively after two seasons.

In his two seasons with the Aztecs, Mensah averaged  1.6 points and a rebound in six minutes across 36 appearances. The 6 foot 10 inch Center is athletic and was ranked the 29th best Center by ESPN coming out of High School.

Moving to James Madison gives Mensah the opportunity to showcase his talent.
