Basketballghana.com can confirm a mini tournament featuring teams in the Tema Basketball League (TBL) is scheduled to be played out this weekend.
The tournament dubbed, “Game On” is a one day competition set to be played on Sunday, November 22 at the Tema Community 4/ Chinese Court.
“Game On” is a collaboration between the TBL and Ground Up Music-a music group headlined by popular Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur.
Teams involved in the competition are Tema Community 4 Oldies, Tema Community Youngings, Sakumono Oldies and Sakumono Youngings.
Per reports gathered by Basketballghana.com, this weekend’s tournament forms part of the preseason games ahead of the new season which has a yet to be determined date.
The Tema League was on course to stage the 2020 season earlier this year but the onset of the corona virus pandemic scuppered all attempts to get the season up and running.
Nungua Coldstore is the defending league champion and its title defence is likely to take place in 2021 when a league start date is officially announced.
