Veteran Shooting Guard Marco Belinelli is on his way back home to Virtus Bologna in the Italian Serie A after exiting the NBA with his last team being San Antonio Spurs.

His move to Bologna teams him up with Ghanaian-Italian Small Forward Awudu Abass who joined the team from fellow Serie A side Germani Brescia before this season.

Abass

The pair played for Italy at the 2019 World Basketball World Cup in China where the European nation made it past the group stages.

Belinelli ‘s deal with Bologna is three seasons while Abass signed a two year deal with the team representing Italy in the EuroCup.

Abass has been absent for Bologna in recent games as he self isolates but was cleared to return to action a few days back. Adding Belinelli to the wing should improve Bologna who rank fourth in the league with five wins and three losses.

Virtus has progressed to the 1/16th stage of the EuroCup with seven wins in seven games.
