Basketballghana.com can confirm Sekondi-Takoradi born player Akwasi Abeyie Yeboah has earned a call up to Great Britain’s Men’s National Basketball Team and is expected to play tonight against France.

He is set to play against another Ghana born player Yakuba Ouattara who plays for France.

Tonight’s game is a 2022 EuroBasket qualifier scheduled to tipoff at 17:00 GMT in Pau, France; Yeboah is based in France where he plays professionally for St. Quentin.

The 23 year old stands at 6 foot 6 inches and plays the Small Forward position and is in his first year as a professional since graduating from Rutgers University.

He played three seasons at Stony Brook University after redshirting as a freshman before moving to Rutgers as a graduate transfer student. He averaged 12.9 points and 5.7 rebounds in his college career but wasn’t drafted into the NBA.

Yeboah has featured for Great Britain at the Under 16, 18 and 20 levels prior to his latest call up; Great Britain is in Group G alongside Germany and Montenegro.
