Nigeria Men’s Basketball Team Head Coach Mike Brown has stated African nations can compete with the best nations in the world.
He made the statement after leading D’Tigers to a clean sweep of games in the second window of qualification games for the 2021 Africa Basketball Championship (AfroBasket) held in Rwanda this past weekend.

Nigeria won all three games at the expense of Mali, Rwanda and South Sudan in Group D to pace the group; this was Brown’s first outing since being named Head Coach of the 2015 African Champions.
“Physically, they are there and we have a lot of physically gifted players… Now, we just have to get a little bit organized, get more coaching, a little more structure and we can compete with the best around the world. Once that is done, I think basketball in Africa is going to improve tremendously” Brown said according to Nigerian outlet ThisDayLive.
